  1. but lies and says he didn’t know.  Come on if he really didn’t know about this don’t you think he would have fired all involved, or if he didn’t know what kind of a leader is he that he can’t keep his staff under control.  This is not the first time he’s thrown his staff under the bus.

    http://www.denverpos

    1. Politicians are not perfect. Their staffs are not perfect. And they are not angels. All in all I think he is handling this well.

Would you want to be fired the first time you made any mistake? And what kind of job would you do in that environment?

      1. I know Obama isn’t perfect or any different then all the others and it bothers me that he claims to be above the fray when clearly he’s just like everyone else.

        1. Being different isn’t claiming to be perfect. Everyone is different and he’s making the case that his differences from every other candidate is what qualifies him to be President.

If you want all the candidates to be the same, god help us. Our country wil not survive another Bush-like President.

          1. he is above negative political attacks now he gets caught doing just that.  The truth is Obama is just like every other pol out there the only difference is some people like you haven’t figured it out yet.  I’m not worried about it his campaign is getting ready to imploud so you’ll figure it out sooner or later.

            1. If you’re not worried about it, why are you the only posting trash like this?

Obama, the candidate himself, did not send this out. Someone on his campaign leaked it. He needs to clean up his campaign staff. Some of them (im assuming this from these slip-ups) are from former presidential campaigns that are used to those tactics.

When you figure out that trolling for stories like of no great importance to make a claim that his campaign is going to implode, is not going to effect primary voters in the democratic party. Let alone in the general. His message is getting across to voters where it matters right now. Look to SC, NH, OH and NV and please stop drudging.

              1. This is not just a minor story it is a glimpse into who Obama really is as a person.  So far all we’ve had to go on is his word he claims this, he wants to do that, and because he doesn’t have much of a record the only we can go on is his word.  But now with this he has very clearly gone against his promise to run a clean, positive campaign.  That is the central message of his campaign and if he really didn’t know that was going on then he should have fired those hacks, but he didn’t because they were just doing what he told them to do.

                A

    2. you’re a Republican troll trying to stir things up among Democrats – and we’re a lot happier with our potential candidate, no matter who it is, than you are, thus the Fred Thompson swoon.

      1. that’s why this story has made its way across the NY times Washington Post Chicago Tribune and countless other papers across the country.

Just cause I don’t like Obama because he could never win doesn’t make me a republican.

        1. Point still being you are vehemntly opposed to his campaign and you troll up stories such as this, that are truly meaningless. His opposition research team leaked a story without getting the Ok from the candidate. Wow, this is truly a non-story. Not like the cross-dressing Rudy, Both Ways Mitt, the bad actor Fred, or Bush crony McCain.

But hey, keep trolling. At least everyone knows what you’re doing.

  2. I think I am the only person in Boulder not involved in a campaign and interested in the election. Holding a special election in the summer with no contensious issues – can you ask for a lower level of interest?

    1. dropped on my porch.  But both candidates waited until several days after I’d already mailed in my ballot to do so.  A waste of their money.

  3. tom delay is a good ole white boy and good ole white boys do NOT take orders from the”colored”….do not do it…and since Truman integregated the military in 1948…many African-American men and women had risen into positions of authority in the military…making it virtually impossible for good ole southern white boys to serve…and so Delay and Locke and Mitchell and Gingrich and Bush (air national guard in texas was all white, i am pretty sure) and the rest ….did not serve….They just couldn’t not give up that taboo….everyone in the South understands this and NO ONE in the north does…..

    1. First, not everyone in the south is racists. That’s a huge misconception.

Second, not everyone in the north is an ignorant yankee of what happens elsehwere int the country, as you seem to imply.

If you take both of those statements to be true, then you would come to the conclusion that not serving in the military because of their racists views makes them nothing more than racists.

My family has fought and died for this country, on behalf of the north during the civil war mind you, and Im proud of my family roots to have fought for justice and equality ever since then.

For any southerner to still proclaim that the south will rise again, or that the civil war was a war of aggression, or that military integration was another blight upon the south, are simply minded racists who can’t overcome their own ignorance.

      1. We all know Bush is a blueblood, regardless of his aw-shucks demeanor, and bluebloods didn’t just join the army or let themselves be drafted during Viet Nam. I honestly don’t know about the other chickenhawks, except for Cheney who rose from average middle class roots, but if they were well-to-do or took advantage of deferments like Cheney then that probably had a lot more to do with self-preservation instincts and less to do than the possibility of taking orders from a black man, Southerner or not.

If dwyer knows more, he should share. It is possible that he’s right, but if this is just conjecture I’m not willing to accept that explanation all by itself.

    2. What kind of mind comes up with a theory like that?  To say that “white southern boys” refused to serve in the military because they could have had black commanding officers is ridiculous to say the least.

I’d love to see your sources that say that “southern white boys” stopped getting drafted in Vietnam, or that “southern white boys” stopped signing up for the military disproportionately to the rest of the population.

I’d also like to hear your explanation as to how someone is supposed to read a post like that and not think that you are the racist….

        1. The attached link shows a map of US casualties in Iraq by home town of record–it shows that this war is indiscriminately killing our kids from both red and blue states, urban and rural areas.  Forget the stereotypes.

          http://icasualties.o

  4. First, I am talking about the military and the South  in the late fifties and sixites…I am talking about the draft…I am talking about the “Southern Upper Class”….like Trent Lock of MS ….I am talking, most of all, about those Southern white boys who SUPPORTED the war in Vietnam….who waved the flag and sprouted the rhetoric and left the Democratic Party and became Republicans…and never put on the uniform….

I am NOT talking about all the kids who got drafted; I am not talking about all the kids who volunteered for a peacetime military, I am not, emphatically, talking about all the kids who looked for a way out of the draft…anyway out…those latter did not support the war publicly…did not drape themselves in the flag….they got deferments, married, when that helped, taught school, joined the peacecorps….said they were gay…or depressed…or did ANYTHING to get out of the military…that was instinct for self-perservation..

My sources for my statement? Excellent challenge.  I have none, other than Delay who alludes to the “ghetto boys” from time to time.  But, I grew up in a military household and lived in the south in the fifties, for a time,…..some of my best friends were Southern….it is based on personal observation and what was said to me.  I got sick of hearing it.

…You all are free to disregard what I said…I would however be interested in an alternate explanation of why all the southernerss, who so publicy supported the war in vietnam, never served….
